Updates to the Stewardship Code Governance Committee in 2025
The Governance Committee of the Aotearoa New Zealand Stewardship Code is pleased to announce changes in its membership for 2025, reflecting the ongoing evolution of stewardship leadership in Aotearoa.
We thank both David Lewis and Shayne Walker who have recently stepped down from their roles. David has taken on a new role as Chief Investment Officer at Alvarium and Pathfinder, and Shayne has become the CEO at Te Awahōhonu Forest Trust. Both have made significant contributions to the establishment and development of the Code, helping to shape its vision for responsible investment and long-term value creation. We extend our sincere thanks to Shayne and David for their leadership and commitment.
We are also delighted to welcome Teahooterangi Pihama to the Governance Committee. Teahooterangi is of Te Ātiawa, Taranaki Whānui, Ngāti Mahanga, Ngāti Maru whakapapa, and brings 12+ years experience in finance, leadership and governance. Teahooterangi was previously the Head of Māori Advisory at Kiwibank, and the founder of Tāwhia (Māori bankers rōpū), and is currently the Director of RŌA CONSULTING.
In addition, Greer Fredricson has been appointed Chair of the Governance Committee. Greer, Corporate Special Counsel and Community Director at Chapman Tripp, has been a valued member of the Committee since its inception. Her appointment as Chair ensures strong continuity and reflects her deep understanding of the stewardship landscape in Aotearoa.
These changes mark an important next chapter in the Code’s development and reinforce the Governance Committee’s role in overseeing its effective implementation across New Zealand’s investment community.
